Please send comments regarding to this abstract to Alan Coverstone.

When it comes to innovation and reform in public education, Metro Nashville Public Schools is leading the charge through its Office of Innovation. Led by Executive Officer, Alan Coverstone, Ed.D., the goal of the Office of Innovation is to increase the number of college ready graduates by preparing students for college, career and life.

The purpose of the Office of Innovation is to inspire and empower innovative thought and practice in schools while building sustainable systems that ensure every student excels academically and discovers his or her unique interests and strengths.

The Office of Innovation is comprised of three divisions: Charter Schools, MSAP (Magnet Schools Assistance Program) Magnet Schools and Innovation Cluster.  Each department embraces a distinguishable set of beliefs and strategies for incorporating innovative practices.  All work together as a portfolio of schools that offer students the opportunity to excel at college, career, and life.

Coverstone says, "Each division will learn from what the others do best and we will develop a portfolio of schools that change lives."
